In Drift, form loosens. Clusters of peonies rise against a darkened field, their petals luminous and unruly, caught between gravity and lift. Sweeping arcs of blue and pale light move through the surface like wind currents or underwater tides — not background, but atmosphere. The flowers do not sit. They hover. What holds the composition together is not structure but motion. This is not a still life. It is a study in momentum — the moment just after letting go.
